Tonight's show features a few newies, surprisingly for this time of
year! We've got Japancakes <http://www.myspace.com/japancakesmusic>
covering My Bloody Valentine <http://www.furious.com/perfect/mbv.html>'s
entire seminal /Loveless/ album in their kind-of alt.country style, yet
staying strangely true to the original. And we've Shearwater
<http://www.shearwatermusic.com/>'s astoundingly brilliant /Palo Santo/
album which seems to me from the singing, the sound, and even the
artwork to be a tribute to late-period Talk Talk
<http://users.cybercity.dk/%7Ebcc11425/>...
Then we've got Leigh Tran's fantastic new compilation /I Don't Want
Anything For Christmas <http://www.traffic-sounds.com/beep2.html>/ on
her Traffic Sounds <http://www.traffic-sounds.com/> label. You gotta get
hold of this! And also something freaky from The John Moran Corperation
<http://www.johnmoran.com.au/> ou of the Blue Mountains.
And a really interesting jazz-meets-electronic compilation from Orange
<http://www.warnermusic.com.au/artist,w_artist,119915>, which is an
unlikely collaboration between Andrew Klippel (son of famed Australian
sculptor Robert Klippel), highly-regarded Australian jazz pianist Mike
Nock, and Nick Littlemore and Pete Mayers of P'nau. It doesn't sound
anything like you'd expect, I'll bet. We've also got a Gescom
<http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gescom> remix later too, and a brilliant
epic track from Hungarian electronic artist Tigrics
<http://www.tigrics.hu/>.
