We just had an awesome summer playing at the *Woodford* and *Falls* 
festivals, and also at the *Sydney Festival*.

*STOP PRESS!* Just this very minute I received an SMS from Shenzo, 
FourPlay's man on the ground in Tamworth, that we won *best band* in the 
2007 Golden Fiddle Awards <http://www.goldenfiddleawards.org.au/>! 
Congratulations to us.


    Gigs a'comin'

At the start of December all four of us congregated in Tim's temporary 
home of Hobart to write more material for this coming year. We came out 
with 10 brand spanking new pieces, including four new group-written 
originals and some rockin' covers. We're putting together a tour to 
debut these new pieces (as well as all your faves), starting with some 
exciting shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

*Thursday Feb 8th & Friday Feb 9th --- The Studio, Sydney Opera House*
We're doing a series of three ultra-extra-special shows called "FourPlay 
Three Ways" at The Studio

Sydney Opera House. These shows will each showcase a different aspect of 
FourPlay's sound, through different genres. Each will have substantially 
different setlists.
*Thursday*'s show is as follows:
9.30pm: *Rock and pop*
*Friday*'s two shows are:
7:30pm *Jazz, blues, roots, folk & world*
9:30pm *Post-rock, electronica, neo-folk, dubstep & hip-hop*

*These shows have an extra-special aspect to them as well.* All three 
shows are being multi-track recorded. FourPlay will be offering a *free* 
digital download EP of selected tracks, one for each ticket bought, 
culled from the performances over the three nights. Please supply your 
email address when purchasing your ticket, and shortly after the 
performances you will be sent an email detailing how to download your 
*free* EP (conditions apply).

*Saturday Feb 10th --- East Brunswick Club, Melbourne*
FourPlay return to Melbourne! We've had some corkers of shows in 
Melbourne recently, and this promises to be another, set to feature a 
bunch of new tracks along with favourites from /Now To The Future/ and 
earlier.
It's our first time at the East Brunswick Club 
<http://www.eastbrunswickclub.com/> too. Supports Invention in Time 
<http://www.inventionintime.com/> continue the tradition of fascinating 
support acts for our Melbourne shows. Book early, book often!
Support plays *9:45-10:30pm*, FourPlay plays an hour+ set after them.

Then further on, we're playing at the Judith Wright Centre 
<http://www.judithwrightcentre.com.au/> in Brisbane on *March 10th*, and

    TV appearances

We've received some mega-exciting invitations from ABC, and on our 
upcoming Melbourne trips will be recording two appearances on Spicks & 
Specks <http://www.abc.net.au/tv/spicksandspecks/> (one as the band, and 
one with Lara on the panel!), and one on ABC Sunday Arts 
<http://www.abc.net.au/tv/sundayarts/about/default.htm>. We'll let you 
know when these will be broadcast, but if you want to try and get into 
the studio audience for Spicks & Specks, the recording date is *Tuesday 
Feb 13th*.
